First-time buyers in the Derby area are being urged to act fast before all the homes at Redrow's Debut development in Hilton are snapped up.

Few than ten properties are still waiting to be sold and Redrow is urging first-time buyers to get in touch as the development is proving very popular.

Redrow attributes the popularity of the development to the fact that the price of the homes start at £82,500.

Pauline Turnbull, sales director, said: "These homes have provided a lifeline to people who feared they would never be able to get a foot on the property ladder.

"One of the innovations of Redrow's Debut range is that the buyer pays just one monthly service charge, which includes the gas, water and electricity bills."

First-time buyers can also defer a tenth of purchase price for up to a decade, interest-free.

Derby, located in the east Midlands, makes it a central point for commuters who need to access England's biggest cities – Manchester, London and Birmingham.

There also train services to the north-west, Greater London and the south-west.
