Redrow's range of starter homes at Bunkers Hill features homes that start from £59,995 and the housebuilder believes this could be a "lifeline" to struggling buyers.

The development was launched in the summer and only a few houses are available to buy, which means a first-time buyer can either snap up one of the remaining houses or register their interest in the next phase of homes at Bunkers Hill.

Catherine Cloke, area sales manager, said that buying a first property can be daunting, especially at a time when house prices have been rising.

"Not only is the price of a [Bunkers Hill] home affordable for a first-time buyer, but our one monthly service charge, which includes the gas, water and electricity bills, as well as buildings insurance and external maintenance, makes it really easy to budget when setting up home for the first time," she added.

According to the Land Registry, the average house price in Lincolnshire has risen by over six per cent in the past 12 months and now stands at more than £148,000.
