Millfield Wharf, a new development in Tamworth in Mercia, is something of a hit with downsizers, according to Barratt Homes.

Consisting of upmarket two-bedroom apartments, the development is attracting homeseekers who want to downsize to a smaller but still spacious home.

And to make life easier for downsizers, Barratt has introduced an agency selling scheme that allows homebuyers to reserve a property at Millfield Wharf, while Barratt sells their old home through an estate agent.

Chris Ashmore, Barratt sales director, said: "The agency selling scheme is a great way to sell your existing property, particularly if you're looking to release equity and move to a low maintenance way of life."

Prices at the development, which has waterside views of both Mill and Bourne Brook, range from £171,700 to £180,750.

Tamworth, which is home to the famous three-wheeled much derided Reliant Robin, is located 17 miles north-east of Birmingham and is close to the M42 and M6.
