Downsizing to a spacious new home at sought-after Meiros Farm in Ashington could not have been easier for Michael and Gillian Clinch.
The local couple decided to sell their existing home and move four miles down the road to the sought-after David Wilson Homes development. And theirs has been something of a 'hands on' experience'.
"This is so exciting for us and the service we've had from David Wilson Homes has been exemplary," said Gillian. "I wanted to be involved as much as possible with the development of our new home - and was even able to lay one of the bricks myself.
"When we decided to downsize, we were sure of two things. We wanted to stay within this beautiful area. And we didn't want to compromise on the quality and style of our home. Meiros Farm fulfilled both requests and so much more."
Featuring a comprehensive selection of one, two, three, four and five bedroom homes, the development offers something for everyone. And its semi-rural setting, surrounded by magnificent West Sussex countryside but close to all local amenities, is proving popular among buyers.
"This area has absolutely everything," said Gillian. "I am in my sixties and Michael in his seventies so we wanted wonderful surroundings but easy access to shops, services and transport links. The waiting is almost over now and we are so looking forward to moving into our beautiful new four bedroom Bradbury house."
The Bradbury is a spacious family home with an impressive entrance hall and an attractive kitchen with a breakfast area and bay window opening onto the rear garden. Close by is a spacious, bay fronted, lounge - as well as a dining room and study.
Upstairs, the master bedroom features an en suite. And a well-proportioned family bathroom serves the remaining three double bedrooms.
"Nothing has been too much trouble for David Wilson Homes," added Gillian. "It has been a big decision for us to downsize from our existing home - and I know that it is one we won't regret."
Ashington itself is winner of several 'village of the year awards'. It is a small and friendly community equipped with shops, a pharmacy and a general store. There are also two churches and a local pub.
For further details about Meiros Farm, we are open Thursday to Monday from 10am until 5pm.
