Local first time buyers, Tina and Martin Jones, are settling into a brand new home within an area they know and love - thanks to a visit to Coed Celynen.
The popular Barratt development is situated in semi-rural Abercarn and features a selection of stylish two and three bedroom homes. Each comes with a price and scheme to tempt those who might previously have chosen to rent a property in the area.
"I am from Abercarn and my parents still live here, so it was the perfect place for Martin and I to look to buy our first home," said Tina. "My father saw an advert for Coed Celynen and suggested it might be a good place to go and see.
"So we did. And we fell in love with both the development and the show home for the two bedroom Richmond house-type."
The Richmond features a spacious lounge/dining room with a set of double doors leading out to the rear garden. There is a modern, fitted kitchen and a handy downstairs cloakroom.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and a family bathroom - with an en suite shower room to the master bedroom.
"We were renting a home and didn't know if we would be able to afford to buy our own," added Tina. "But Jeanette and Gemma in the sales office were superb and truly exceeded our expectations. They told us about a shared equity scheme that was open to us through Barratt - and everything just fell into place.
"Since moving in we've married and are now enjoying the fact that we've been able to stay in this beautiful location. We can take mountain and river walks but only have a short commute to Cardiff by car or train. The location is perfect."
Coed Celynen benefits from a unique, peaceful ambiance and spectacular scenery - making it ideal for everyone from professional couples to families.
The development is situated on the doorstep of the stunning Ebbw River, which flows through the development. It gives residents and visitors a real glimpse of the beauty of the area in which the homes have been built.
