Househunters in Southampton have been invited to events at the Hollybrook Lodge and Hinkler Place developments, where specialists from Barratt Homes will be at hand to offer advice.

The experts will also offer guidance on the numerous schemes available, which help make it much easier for people to own their first home.

In addition, financial specialists will be at hand to provide further assistance.

There are a variety of options for people looking to buy properties at Hollybrook Lodge and Hinkler Place, including FirstBuy, which will provide buyers with a loan of up to 20 per cent of the price of a property, with the money being jointly funded by the government's Homes and Communities Agency and Barratt.

The remaining 80 per cent of the price then has to be found by the buyers themselves, comprising the deposit and mortgage.

NewBuy is another scheme that visitors will be able to learn about. It has seen the return of 95 per cent mortgages for first time buyers and has recorded a lot of interest thanks to the dramatically reduced deposit required to purchase a property.

Barratt sales director Sarah Eales said: "The focus at the event will be on FirstBuy which is designed purely for first time buyers. There will be plenty of stylish new homes for our potential buyers to look at and choose from.

"I think many first time buyers are still unaware of the help available to them to get onto the property ladder, so this event provides a great opportunity for Barratt to showcase how we can help."

In addition to its Southampton developments, Barratt Homes has a variety of developments in other areas of the UK, including Hull, where its Aspire premises is situated.

The homes have been designed to meet all modern living requirements, as they offer dining kitchens and ensuites.

The properties are also ideally located, with a number of amenities within easy reach of residents and the city centre only ten minutes away.ADNFCR-1100-ID-801514565-ADNFCR
