Planners have given the green light for 42 new homes to be built in Stockbridge Village, Knowsley.

Persimmon Homes Lancashire has secured consent for the two and three bedroom semi-detached and detached homes at the site, off Haswell Drive.

Managing director Mark Cook said: "We have worked closely with Knowsley Council officers to create an acceptable re-plan of this site, which had previously been partly developed.

"Because work has already been undertaken to prepare this site, with roads and sewers already in place, we aim to commence construction early in the New Year and hope to have homes available for sale before Easter."

The site is within walking distance of Stockbridge Village centre and its leisure facilities.
