Maxine Whitton and Mark Reeves had never been to Barton Upon Humber until they visited Redrow's Fox's Fold, but they knew instantly that it was where they wanted to live.

The couple had been living separately, Maxine in Brough, and Mark in Willerby, but had decided it was time they bought a home together.

They'd looked at several properties, both old and new, before a search of the Redrow website drew their attention to Fox's Fold in Barton upon Humber where they eventually bought a four-bedroom Stratford. They have even been joined by Maxine's daughter, who has bought a two-bedroom home on the same development on her mum's recommendation.

Maxine explained: "We looked at older properties but they needed a lot of work doing to them. We'd also viewed a four-bedroom Stratford at Holtby Gardens and liked how it looked traditional outside but was modern inside and after looking at the Redrow website, decided to visit Fox's Fold. We'd never even been to Barton upon Humber before but David Skelton the sales consultant was very welcoming and when he showed us the Stratford we fell in love with it. It's got a large lounge with a feature bay window, plus an open plan kitchen and diner, which is really family-friendly."

Buying a brand new home meant that Maxine and Mark were able to enjoy customising it to their personal tastes, choosing the finish of everything from the kitchen cupboards to the bathroom tiles.

They're now enjoying life in a home that's easy to manage and efficient to run.

"I would definitely recommend Redrow; in fact on my recommendation my daughter has bought a two-bedroom Evesham at Fox's Fold. All of the homes have a very high specification - it doesn't matter if it's the smallest or the largest, they're all finished to the same standard," Maxine said.

Mark, 41, is a lawyer and works in Hull; while Maxine, 45, works as a nurse in Goole.

Maxine says Fox's Fold is ideally positioned for them both to commute to work, particularly as the Humber Bridge tolls have been reduced to £1.50.

She's now glad she made the move across the bridge to Barton.

"Fox's Fold is a lovely development and it's nice and quiet. Everyone's in the same boat when it comes to moving to somewhere new and very friendly," Maxine added.

Current availability at Fox's Fold includes three and four-bedroom homes in a choice of styles, priced from £124,950, with a four-bedroom Stratford, similar to Maxine and Mark's on the market at £177,950.

For more information about the homes available at Fox's Fold, visit the development, open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.30pm.
