Almost a decade after construction work began at Buckshaw Village began, Redrow is preparing to launch its final phase of new homes at the popular development.

The former munitions site has come a long way since work on the first homes began in 2003. Designed as a new 'urban village', Buckshaw Village is now well established with hundreds of homes, mature landscaping, a whole host of local amenities and a thriving business park.

Redrow is responsible for some 900 homes at the consortium development of circa 2,000 properties.

Currently selling homes at The Village Green, Cedars Walk and Sandy Lane, the award-winning housebuilder is preparing to launch its final phase at Buckshaw Village, known as The Orchard.

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), commented: "Buckshaw Village has been a massive success and it's fantastic to see how the neighbourhood has blossomed over the years to become a thriving community. The launch of The Orchard in February will mark the end of an era, as it's the last time we'll be opening new show homes here. Our properties continue to be immensely popular and we're anticipating that this final phase will be as popular as those that have gone before it.

"In fact, we're expecting that those who bought Redrow homes in earlier phases and are now ready to make their next move on the property ladder will be keen to see inside the new show homes."

Over the weekend of February 2nd and 3rd, Redrow will open the doors to a three-bedroom Letchworth and a four-bedroom Oxford.

As with all properties from Redrow's sought-after New Heritage Collection, the 74 new homes at The Orchard will look traditional from the outside, taking inspiration from the architecture of the Arts and Crafts era.

Inside they will be stylish yet practical and full of family-friendly features.

"Dressed by professional interior designers as lived in family homes that people aspire to live in, the Letchworth and Oxford show homes will enable buyers to picture themselves living at The Orchard," Claire added.

Between the various phases of Buckshaw Village, Redrow offers a good choice of properties ranging from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom detached family homes. Current prices start from as little as £65,000 for a one-bedroom apartment up to £559,995 for a five-bedroom home.

Along with the new homes, Buckshaw Village enjoys a wealth of local amenities including a well-used community centre, all-weather sports pitches, shops including a chemist, hairdressers and convenience store in the village centre, plus a supermarket, pub/ restaurant.

There's also a primary school, new doctors' surgery and a train station offering frequent services to Manchester and Preston.

The 80-acre Matrix Park forms part of the village and its offices and distribution depots employ more than 700 people.

The new show homes at The Orchard at Buckshaw Village will be open for viewing from Saturday, February 2nd. In the meantime, house hunters can view properties at The Village Green and Sandy Lane phases.
