Outdoor space is proving an increasingly important factor for today’s homebuyers, with 74%* of people stating that they would not even consider purchasing a property that didn’t have a garden. However, while re-turfing or even landscaping an unruly garden can prove a timely and expensive exercise, new home buyers can benefit from a ready made, tailored space that they can start to enjoy straight away. Ready-made gardens are providing an increasingly important factor for today’s homebuyers, especially for those with little spare time or a young family to look after. David Bexon, Managing Director of SmartNewHomes.com said: “Attractive, well-designed gardens and landscapes turn a good development into a great one. Recent statistics from Lloyds TSB revealed that we can’t get enough of outdoor space, with one quarter of Brits (26 per cent) enjoying more than six hours a week in their garden during the spring and summer months. “A ready made garden is proving increasingly attractive to new home buyers. A growing number of people today either lack the experience and know-how to create or landscape an attractive and maintainable garden, or they simply don’t have the time. The benefit of buying a new home with outdoor space, which is typically landscaped means that all new home buyers need to do is enjoy and maintain it.” Emma and Richard Hourston moved into a new home at a Linden Homes Chiltern development, The Grange in Farnham Royal at the beginning of February. With three young, active children they needed the move to be as easy as possible. Emma comments: “On arrival, the garden was fully turfed, which meant that we had little work to do other than put our own stamp on it. It would of taken us ages to do this ourselves and really saved us a huge, time consuming job. “The front garden area, which was fully planted, looked especially good and was very colourful – it looked really lovely on our arrival.”
