A new scheme from Barratt known as My Choice means first time buyers can get on the property ladder at the housebuilder's Bretton Park development in Barnsley.

My Choice is part of the government's new HomeBuy initiative and it means that young buyers and key workers can buy a new property with a salary of £15,000.

A financial expert will be on hand to take a look at new buyers' income and outgoings. A questions and answers sheet will help determine if they qualify for financial support.

Barratt sales director Sue Merritt said: "Under the scheme, eligible buyers could contribute a minimum of 50 per cent towards the full purchase price of their new home, through an affordable mortgage."

Bretton Park is a development of 83 two-bed apartments, three and four bedroom semis, and three-storey townhouses.

The development is ideally located for commuters travelling to Leeds, Wakefield, and Sheffield. It is a ten-minute drive from the M1 motorway network.
