Countryside Properties has almost finished restoring the Twyfords pottery factory at the heart of its Lock 38 development in Cliffe Vale in Stoke-on-Trent.
The housebuilder has already preserved two Grade II listed buildings on the site of the old factory. It is now putting the finishing touches to the original frontage of the Twyfords building.
For the past eight months, Countryside Properties has worked closely with English Heritage and Stoke city council to restore the factory to its former glory.
Once completed, it will contain 51 one and two-bedroom apartments. More than 140 apartments have already been built at Lock 38.
Martin Leggett, Countryside Properties regional sales director, said: "We recognise the historical importance of the Grade II factory to Stoke-on-Trent and its restoration forms part of our commitment to sustainable regeneration."
First time buyers hoping to get onto the property ladder at Lock 38 may benefit from a government-funded initiative where Countryside Properties will pay the mortgage for one year on selected plots and house prices are knocked down to make them more affordable.
