Those considering purchasing a property in Italy may be interested to hear that London property firm Chesterton has expanded its international operations by opening an office on the shores of Lake Como in the Lombardy region of Italy.

From the new base the agent will provide buyers and sellers of high-end properties in the region - as well as areas further afield such as Lakes Maggiore, Orta and Lugano - with a "personalised service", including property searches for those looking to make a purchase in the area.

"We specialise in finding unique properties with a particular feature, be it part of a historic villa or a typical house with a unique lake view," explained director of Chesterton Como Cheryl Lorenzo-Penn, adding that many properties purchased in the region are seen as an investment due to the high likelihood of their values increasing.

Those considering a purchase may be encouraged by property expert Paul Owen, who has described those with the ability to buy more than one overseas home as being in a "great" position.ADNFCR-1100-ID-18856702-ADNFCR
