Buyers of new homes from Barratt Mercia can rest easy with a new mortgage guarantee during the tough economic period, the firm has announced.
The company has issued an offer under which it will guarantee the payments of mortgages for five years and the value of a house for three.
Under these terms, mortgage holders who suffer unemployment in the recession will have their repayments covered, while anyone selling on their home for less than they bought it for will have the difference refunded by Barratt by up to 15 per cent.
Sales director at Barratt Mercia Chris Ashmore said: "It is so important to feel armed for the worst during an economical downturn and I am pleased to be able to help our future customers achieve that security."
Last week Barratt North London announced details of a new development in Watford, which will include 223 new homes, of which 69 will be classed as affordable.
