First-time buyers looking to step onto the property ladder may wish to consider a development in Bridgwater, where developer Barratt Homes has a number of properties at "reduced prices".
The house builder's Festival site, which is located close to the town centre, features a range of apartments, including the two-bedroom 'Milton' style property which is available to first-time buyers for £97,750 using the developer's Head Start scheme.
"Under the Head Start scheme, [buyers] secure a mortgage for 85 per cent of the total property price and Barratt finances the remaining 15 per cent for up to ten years," sales manager at Festival Louise Berry explained.
Located in Somerset in the south-west of England, Bridgwater offers easy access to Bristol, Taunton and Exeter and the next phase of the Festival site - due to be completed in 2009 - will feature properties overlooking the River Parrett.
Elsewhere in the country, properties aimed a first-time buyers are also available at a Redrow Homes development near Chorley, in Lancashire.
