A property development in Torquay is proving popular with buyers, despite the current economic conditions, the house builder has claimed.
Barratt Homes' Torre Marine site features apartments and houses ranging from one to four bedrooms in size, with work on the second phase of homes - due to be available in 2009 - currently underway.
First-time buyers considering a purchase at the site may be able to take advantage of a Barratt initiative enabling them to own 100 per cent of a property while paying only 50 per cent of its value, with the remainder being paid in ten year's time.
"Prices for homes sold through this initiative range from £124,000 to £175,000," Barratt Homes' sales manager Louise Terry explained, adding that since June 21 new homes have been sold at Torre Marine, with a further ten buyers moving in before Christmas.
Barratt has recently reduced the prices of some of it homes at a development in Bridgwater, Somerset.
First-time buyers can now purchase a property at the site for £97,750.
