The recent fall in house prices could provide a real opportunity for those thinking of getting on the property ladder for the first time.
Katy John, spokesperson for PricedOut.org.uk, believes there are a range of developers looking to sell their properties, which could prove beneficial.
"For them, the falls in property prices do not spell doom, but are an opportunity to think realistically about owning their own home," she continues.
Some of the offers available are on new properties including flats and other homes in city centre locations, although first-time buyers may be wary of buying while prices continue to fall.
Halifax reported earlier this month that housing was at its most affordable level since January 2003, while the proportion of local authorities in the UK where housing is affordable for first-time buyers has more than trebled since 2007.
The average time on the market was 10.4 weeks in April 2009, compared to 11.3 weeks in March.
