Property owners in search of a bigger home can make use of the Homebuy Direct scheme to move up the ladder, it is claimed.
Redrow Homes is offering the deal at Oakley Vale in Corby, where properties can be bought for £90,997 when taking the discount into account, giving buyers the opportunity to upsize.
Pauline Turnbull from the developer said: "Redrow matches government pound for pound to provide an equity loan up to 30 per cent of the purchase price and this loan is interest-free for the first five years."
This could prove a good option for those who have little or no equity in their homes and could prove more cost effective as they are cheaper to maintain than older properties.
Redrow recently offered buyers the chance to swap their existing property for a new one at the Grange development in Desborough.
