People in Lee-on-the-Solent are being invited to show their support for charity The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) this week by joining residents at McCarthy & Stone’s Anchorage Court retirement development on Marine Parade East for a special Christmas fundraiser.
The event is taking place at the development on Friday 27th November, from 12.00pm to 3.00pm. Residents and locals will be able to enjoy sherry and mince pies and browse stalls selling a range of Christmas gifts from the RNLI.
Volunteers from the RNLI will be attending the event and all money raised will go directly to the local branch to support the charity’s efforts to continue saving lives at sea.
Aileen King, sales and marketing director at McCarthy & Stone South West, comments: “Anchorage Court is located right on the seafront and as such, the RNLI is a charity that is close to many of our residents’ hearts. This event will not only provide an excellent opportunity to raise vital funds for the charity but visitors may even be able to start their Christmas shopping early! We’d encourage anyone who can spare the time to come along and show their support for such a worthwhile cause.”
After sherry and mince pies, visitors will be able to have a look around Anchorage Court, view the show complex and the facilities enjoyed by residents to really get a feel for life at the development.
Anchorage Court is a retirement development exclusively for the over 60s offering 47 contemporary one and two bedroom apartments. The development is situated on Marine Parade East, in the small seaside town of Lee-on-the-Solent. The beach and seafront, with views across to the Isle of Wight, are located opposite Anchorage Court and some apartments and the residents’ lounge benefit from sea views.
