First-time buyers are placing a firm foot on the property ladder thanks to Government loans covering up to 30% of their new homes at The City, George Wimpey’s popular development in Coventry.

HomeBuy Direct is a shared equity scheme allowing qualifying customers with a household income of less than £60,000 a year to secure 100% of their new home for as little as 70% of the purchase price.

The outstanding sum is covered by a great-value loan, co-funded by George Wimpey and the Homes and Communities Agency, which is interest-free for the first five years and low-interest for up to 20 years thereafter.

Many first-time buyers have already taken advantage of this groundbreaking scheme at The City, and the good news is that by acting quickly, today’s purchasers could qualify too – and benefit from low 2009 property prices into the bargain!

HomeBuy Direct means a stylish two-bedroom apartment priced at an already great-value £91,995 is available with a mortgage of £64,399.

Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Midlands, Daniel McGowan, says: “Since we launched HomeBuy Direct at The City 14 couples and individuals have already taken advantage of the low-rate loans to get on the property ladder.

“There are still opportunities for buyers to take advantage of this scheme which helps overcome the hurdles of high mortgage costs and the need for a hefty deposit, but we recommend people act quickly because HomeBuy Direct funding won’t be available for much longer.

“Anyone who thinks they could qualify for this unmissable deal shouldn’t hesitate to contact the Sales Executive today to find out more.”

Among the homes available using HomeBuy Direct at The City is the superbly spacious ‘Jackson’ apartment – available under the HomeBuy Direct with a mortgage of just £64,399.

These two-bedroom ground-floor and second-floor homes feature a light and airy open plan lounge/diner with fully fitted kitchen including built-in oven, hob and hood, a spacious master bedroom, a good-sized second bedroom and a bathroom off the private entrance hallway.

Alternatively, HomeBuy Direct customers who can secure a mortgage of £82,000 can choose the two-bedroom ‘Austin’ apartment, available in ground and second-floor plots.

This contemporary home really has the wow-factor thanks to the turret-shaped living/dining area with full-height windows to selected plots, which flood the room with glorious natural light.

All new homes at The City enjoy a high standard specification including gas central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with washer-dryer, built-in oven, hob and cooker hood, while most apartments also include allocated parking.

In a prime central location on the former Coventry City football ground, The City is within easy reach of a vast range of amenities, shops and leisure pursuits, including theatres, concert halls, galleries, bars, restaurants, cafes and vibrant nightlife.

Commuters will appreciate that the development enjoys easy access to the M6 and M40 motorways, while the city’s railway station operates regular services to London and Birmingham.

For those travelling abroad, Coventry has its own airport with flights to more than 20 European destinations, while Birmingham International is just a 30-minute drive away.
