Whitton United Youth FC’s Under 8s have scored a great home win by securing a top donation from Taylor Wimpey.

The leading housebuilder in the East Anglia region has sponsored a brand new tracksuit to kit out the two new U8s teams for their forthcoming matches.

Debbie Page, Whitton United Youth Football Co-ordinator, says: “The Under 8 squads are new to Whitton FC, but the 18 boys, who will play in the A and B teams, have been training together for a couple of years and are now raring to go in the South Suffolk Youth Football League.”

With one of the parents having generously sponsored the team’s shirts, the club contacted Taylor Wimpey East Anglia about sponsoring new tracksuits for the season ahead.

And with the housebuilder happy to help out, now the smart young teams are ready to take on the challenge of playing friendlies in the local league.

Ruel Fox, former Norwich City, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur player and chairman of Whitton United FC, adds:

“Taylor Wimpey’s sponsorship is a real boost for our youngest players, who have been putting in lots of training together and are very keen to take part in the South Suffolk Youth League against other local U8 sides.

“Having the smart emerald and black tracksuits helps to unite players as a team – and our U8s are thrilled because they look just like professional footballers.”

With strong ethos to encourage participation and team values, Whitton United Youth FC offers training for under 6s up to under 18s, including girls’ training to the age of 16. The club’s senior 1st and reserve squads play in the Ridgeons League.

Stacy Dornan, Taylor Wimpey East Anglia’s Sales Manager, says: “While we were building new homes in the Ipswich area – at our now sold-out Cedro, Spencers Court and The Grove developments – local people made us feel very welcome, and so we were delighted to give something back to the community.

“We are currently in the planning stages to build a selection of new, substantial family homes at Kesgrave, and at Purdis Rise, a lovely, semi-rural location close to Ipswich Golf Course.

“Taylor Wimpey is dedicated to promoting the areas in which we work and we hope our sponsorship will help send Whitton U8s on their way to a successful first season!”
