A Bryant Homes site manager in Lincolnshire has earned a coveted prize in a prestigious UK building industry competition – known in the trade as a ‘Top 100’.
Scott Weatherbed, site manager at the Larks Meadow development in Witham St Hughs, near Lincoln, was presented with a Seal of Excellence gong at the prestigious 2009 National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job awards.
The Seal of Excellence is one of the top honours handed out by the NHBC each year in recognition of outstanding commitment to producing high-quality new homes and to maintaining exceptional standards in every aspect of building work.
Scott’s latest triumph comes after he was earlier chosen to receive an NHBC Quality Award.
A total of 12 Taylor Wimpey East Midlands site managers won Quality Awards in 2009 – a UK record for the highest number secured by any one company in a single year.
Steve Farmer, Regional Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, says: “Everyone in the company is extremely proud of Scott for his latest achievement, and he deserves our warmest congratulations.
“Winning the Quality Award was an achievement in itself, but to go on to clinch the Seal of Excellence is taking his success to a whole new level.
“Scott’s expertise and dedication to his work reflects our commitment to building the highest quality new homes, and he should rightly be held up as a shining example to others.”
Seal of Excellence winners really are the cream of the crop when it comes to delivering outstanding new homes and maintaining the safest and most efficient building sites.
Only 130 site managers are chosen for the prize from 400 Quality Award winners, who in turn are selected from more than 18,000 NHBC-registered housebuilders running sites up and down England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Each site manager undergoes a stringent selection process with independent judges visiting developments at key stages of the construction process to assess them on all aspects of house building.
