Bill Torry, one of Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s most experienced site managers, has secured a ‘Top Ten Seal of Excellence’ at this year’s NHBC ‘Pride in the Job’ Awards for his outstanding work at the company’s St David’s Gardens development in Eskbank near Dalkeith – making this the fourth time he’s picked up a ‘Seal of Excellence’ and top-ten ranking in his career.
Recognised as the ‘Oscars of the House-building industry’ - Pride in the Job has been rewarding site managers with excellent standards on site for 29 years, and Bill has been hand-picked from thousands of competitors across the UK to receive a ‘Seal of Excellence Award’ and a top-ten position in Scotland again this year.
With a string of top ten rankings in 1990, 1992, 1993; the overall number one spot in 1995 plus quality awards in 1998, 2008, as well as his most recent NHBC award, Bill is one of the company’s most accomplished site managers. He joined the company 37 years ago as a joiner, and has been a site manager for the last 23 years.
However, he still remains committed to achieving the very best on every development as he explains: “Winning an NHBC Seal of Excellence is a real honour, and I’m delighted to have received this amazing award for the fourth time. NHBC ‘Pride in the Job’ Awards recognise the superb team effort and levels of excellence, and this latest accolade is testament to the team-work, experience and dedication to quality that sets St David’s Gardens apart as one of the best sites in Scotland.”
Congratulating Bill on this superb recognition for quality and craftsmanship, Ewan Robertson, Production Director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland comments: “This most recent NHBC ‘Seal of Excellence’ Award recognises the commitment and exceptional standards achieved by Bill and his team at St David’s Gardens. To continue to achieve this kind of industry recognition represents a significant accomplishment for Bill and his team against very strong competition from other site managers in Scotland."
