Retirees in Street are being invited to make McCarthy & Stone an offer for the final apartment at its Bluestone Court development on Oxendale.

The retirement developer is holding a special Sealed Bid* event at the development on Saturday 30th January.

Anyone interested in making an offer for the last apartment should pre-register their interest by Saturday 23rd January by calling the sales office at McCarthy & Stone’s Tor View Court development, also in Street.

The apartment will be open for viewing on Saturday 23rd January and all bids should be made in writing at the development on Saturday 30th January by 4.00pm. The successful bid is subject to legal completion by Friday 26th March 2010.

Aileen King, sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone South West, explains: “This really is a chance of a lifetime to purchase a fantastic retirement apartment at an extraordinary price – and the last opportunity to enjoy life at Bluestone Court. We will only be accepting offers on one day and all reasonable offers will be considered. The apartment will revert back to its original price after the event so we are urging homebuyers to qualify now to make sure they don’t miss out!”

The successful bidder will be notified by Sunday 31st January.

The final property is a one bedroom apartment on the first floor benefiting from a south-west aspect. The property comprises an open plan lounge and dining room, adjoining kitchen, double bedroom and a bathroom and will be sold as seen, complete with furniture, carpets, curtains, light fittings, a fire and fireplace as well as a fully-fitted bathroom and kitchen.

The final apartment is one of 46 one and two bedroom retirement apartments for the over-55s at Bluestone Court and the development is located just 500 yards from Street town centre.

Designed especially for retirement living, special care and attention has been paid to incorporate features such as 24 hour emergency Careline call points, electrical sockets at a raised height to reduce bending, illuminated light switches, a security entry system, easy grip lever taps in the bathroom and kitchen and energy efficient heating.

Residents at Bluestone Court can also enjoy large landscaped gardens and private pedestrian access to the town centre. Residents can also socialise and relax in the communal lounge and invite family or friends to stay at the development’s guest suite.
