First time home-buyers should look coastally to an exciting new development in Ramsgate, which has properties ideal for those eligible for the HomeBuy Direct scheme.
Ramsgate, on the Isle of Thanet in Kent, is famed for its coastline and its thriving marina. The town, which was a prime location for Victorian gentry, is once again being revived with £90 million in regeneration funds.
It already has a Continental style seafront café culture, which allows residents to take in the choc-a-bloc summer events schedule on the marina. During August, there is the internationally prestigious Ramsgate week, which sees the annual Power Boat Grand Prix and carnival.
The town is also the perfect place for swimmers who want to breathe the sea air, with its Blue Flag awarded waters and clean beaches.
Commuters to London will benefit from plans for Ramsgate to be part of the high-speed 'Javelin' network, which will take them to the capital in just under an hour.
Trains from the area also connect easily to Ashford International. Those using their own transport will be conveniently located near the A299 which continues onto the M2 for the M25 and London.
New Meridian Village, developed by Explore Homes, has a range of properties suitable for first-time buyers and families. The apartments, priced from £91,995 upwards are available under Explore Living's Route 75 scheme currently available only at this Ramsgate development.
Eligible applicants for the scheme will receive an interest free loan covering over ten years, to when the owner decides to remortgage or sell the property. According to Explore, prospective buyers will only need a five per cent deposit meaning that only £1,000 is needed to reserve the ideal home.
