A date has been set for the long anticipated launch of retirement developer McCarthy & Stone’s new Assisted Living development in Ferndown.

The exciting new concept will be launched to the public on Tuesday 23rd February at Oakdene Forest Park, off the A31. Two separate presentations will take place at 2.00pm and 6.00pm, lasting approximately one hour, and will be the first opportunity for people to find out comprehensive details about the development, including prices.

Visitors to the event will also be able to speak to McCarthy & Stone’s experienced sales team, preview the plans for the development and ask any questions they may have about the new development. They will also be able to make a further appointment with Sue Town, McCarthy & Stone’s professional advisor, to make a reservation.

Aileen King, sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone South West, explains: “We are delighted to be launching Cherrett Court and bringing an exciting new offering to Ferndown. The launch event on the 23rd is designed to help potential purchasers and their families learn more about the benefits of Assisted Living and how we can help get them moving.

“We will be offering visitors on the day the opportunity to take advantage of our fantastic new ‘Moving Experience’, which will see their stamp duty, estate agent and solicitor fees all paid for by McCarthy & Stone as well as free use of our decluttering and removals service.”

Peter and Jean Belling used the Moving Experience when they bought from McCarthy & Stone. Peter explains: “People say that moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do but that wasn’t the case for us. McCarthy & Stone gave us so much help. The sales consultant visited us in our home and we selected an apartment off-plan. We knew what to expect because we’d seen other McCarthy & Stone developments.

“Then after we’d tried and failed to sell our house ourselves, McCarthy & Stone appointed a solicitor and estate agent and liaised with them to bring about a sale. They even provided a free decluttering and removals service. All in all, we didn’t have to do very much except move in!”

Cherrett Court is located on Ringwood Road and will comprise 46 one and two bedroom Assisted Living retirement apartments.

The development will extend the retirement living offering to the over 70s in Ferndown by providing residents who require additional daily assistance with the necessary support to enable them to live in their home for longer, as their needs change, or avoid residential care altogether.

Designed to bridge the gap between a conventional retirement development and a residential care home, the development will offer a range of facilities including a waitress service restaurant and flexible support services to make life easier and meet the changing needs of residents.
