The Homes and Communities Agency has announced the first tranche of successful schemes for the second round of Kickstart funding.
The HCA said that out of 265 shortlisted schemes, 87 had won funding, and that around a quarter of the successful schemes were likely to be back on site by the end of March.
Almost £83 million will be allocated to kickstart the development of 5,696 homes which includes 3,503 affordable dwellings, of which 2,193 will be covered by HomeBuy Direct. It is expected that 85% of the schemes will be built to Code for Sustainable Homes level three.
HCA’s chief executive Sir Bob Kerslake said: “With over 6,000 new and affordable homes now on their way to being completed through round one of the Kickstart programme, this second round of funding will help many more schemes get back on track.”
A further batch of successful bidders for round two will be announced in late Spring.
