Buying a home of your own in the Birmingham suburb of Oldbury could be more affordable than you think with Redrow.

Research by the housing charity Shelter* suggests that almost one in four 18 to 34-year-olds are still living with their parents; often because they believe they can’t afford a place of their own.

Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), said: “Buying your first home is a big step, but it could be more affordable than you may have realised.”

According to the Halifax**, housing in the West Midlands was more affordable in 2009 than in 2007, with first time buyers paying an average of £115,535, for their new home. At Charter Place we have a choice of apartments, which make ideal starter homes, for under £100,000.

An ‘Avon’ style open plan apartment with a spacious lounge/dining room, contemporary fitted kitchen and a large bedroom could be yours from as little as £81,250.

Or if it’s a two-bedroom property you’re looking for there’s the ‘Argal,’ with separate lounge and the added luxury of en-suite to the master bedroom, priced from £96,500.

“The competitive price of these apartments makes Charter Place an ideal place to make your first step on to the property ladder. It’s also in a great location for young professionals who work in the surrounding cities of Birmingham and Wolverhampton, but appreciate coming home to a comfortable retreat away from the hustle and bustle,” Pauline commented.

“And as new build properties, those who choose to call Charter Place ‘home’ won’t have to worry about wasting time and money on expensive repairs and renovations that an older, second hand property may need.”

Charter Place is conveniently close to Birmingham city centre, Wolverhampton and Halesowen; while leafier locations are also nearby in the shape of Woodgate Valley Country Park, which is just one mile away and offers no less than 450 acres of meadows, hedgerows and woodland.
