To mark the official opening of McCarthy & Stone’s Moravia Court development on Market Street in Forres, Carole Baxter – presenter of the BBC’s Beechgrove Garden- visited and toured the development this week to meet the residents who have already chosen Moravia Court as their new retirement home.
The team at Moravia Court are rightly proud of their development and its’ fantastic grounds so it was fitting to welcome Carole Baxter to mark the official opening of the development as Steve Wiseman, Regional Managing Director for McCarthy & Stone comments: “I was absolutely delighted to welcome Carole to Moravia Court to see for herself just how popular this style of retirement living is proving to be in Forres.
Situated on Market Street means we’re right in the heart of the community here, and we’ve matched the town’s enthusiasm for floral displays by ensuring our residents’ grounds truly are a relaxing and tranquil place to enjoy. And I’m delighted to say we’ve picked up some great tips from Carole to make sure our gardens stay in bloom!”
Carole Baxter added: “It’s been lovely to come here today and officially open the Moravia Court development. Moravia Court is a delightful place to live, with grounds that are well-maintained and looked after by gardeners so residents can enjoy these surroundings without any of the hard-work. Forres has long been linked with its’ most amazing floral displays and sculptures, and the town has won many awards in the ‘Beautiful Scotland in Bloom’ competition, so it’s great to see that McCarthy & Stone have created a quality development both indoors and out!
“And to ensure resident’s can enjoy a little of the outdoors whilst relaxing in their new apartment, I’ve offered my top-ten tips for indoor gardening that include suggestions on how to keep resident’s houseplants healthy, as well as some ideas of herbs and sprouting beans they could easily grow from the comfort of their new property!”
Moravia Court is the first development of its kind in Forres to offer retirement living. The development comprises a good mix of 45 one and two bedroom apartments which are tailored to the needs of older people with on-site facilities such as a laundry-room, a central lounge for recreation and social events, a lift and a hotel-style guest suite for friends and family who wish to visit. Prices currently start from £133,950
Plus, for added peace of mind there’s a 24-hour personal emergency service, as well as a TV security-system monitoring the main entrance. A house manager is responsible for daily management of gardeners, window-cleaners and maintenance staff, as well as helping to organise social events with the residents.
