First-time buyers looking for a home in York could be in luck thanks to a new development.

As part of a wider redevelopment of Acomb, Barratt's Indigo housing project on Thanet Road aims to attract those who have been unable to get on the property ladder due to rising housing prices.

Home seekers are being offered off-plan prices on two and three-bedroom homes from £169,995, as well as one and two-bedroom apartments starting at £131,995.

Sales director Paul Hogan said: "Indigo looks set to follow in the footsteps of our other recent developments in the Acomb area.

"We have a great knowledge and understanding of what local buyers want from a new home and we think the design of Indigo reflects this perfectly."

Acomb is the largest suburb in York, a city which has seen house prices rise by over nine per cent in the past 12 months, according to the Land Registry.
