Miller's health and safety programme wins award

Miller Homes been recognised by a leading trade magazine Building for its commitment to driving up health and safety standards in its Yorkshire developments.

The firm has won Best Housebuilders' Safety Programme at the Health and Safety Awards organised by the magazine.

According to the panel, Miller Homes is a "flagship example" of proactive involvement in health and safety improvement and judges cited the firm's thorough site inspection system.

Steve Birch, managing director of Miller Homes Yorkshire said: "Making sure all of our sites are safe and secure is our number one priority.

"Both site inspection scores and accident frequency rates have shown significant improvements over the last two years – which is obviously fantastic news."

Miller Homes recently won the Housebuilder of the Year award at a gala dinner in London organised by Building.

Among Miller's Yorkshire developments are the Central Park project in Leeds, Southcroft Meadows near Wakefield and The Oaks in Worksop.
