A leading housebuilder is inviting home seekers "of all types" to check out its new development in Westhoughton, Bolton.

Due to be completed next year, the development by Barratt Homes is home to 377 dwellings, ranging from apartments for first-time buyers to five-bedroom homes for large families.

The Summerfields estate, situated on the outskirts of the town, is not only close to open countryside but is only half a mile way from the M61 motorway.

A spokesman for Barratt said the estate's proximity to Wigan, Bolton town centre and the Greater Manchester highways network will make Summerfields popular with commuters and "those who want to live and work in this vibrant town".

Meanwhile, the proposed Clarendon Gardens estate in the Bromley Cross area of Bolton is proving popular with homebuyers and investors.

Already 13 of the 19 planned houses by Barratt have been sold, despite the fact that not a single brick has been laid.
