Those getting on the property ladder for the first time are taking advantage of Olympic regeneration, according to Barratt Homes.

Leon and Lizel Engelke - who have recently purchased a Barratt property in Forest Place, Walthamstow - state that there a number of advantages to buying in and around where the games are going to be held.

Mr Engelke, 29, explains: "The road links are very good and in the run-up to the 2012 Olympics, public transport links will probably be upgraded and roads will be widened, so that will improve things even more."

The Forest Place development consists of 184 new homes and provides concierge services. Other facilities include a gym, private parking and landscaped formal gardens.

Properties begin at £164,995 for one-bed apartments and £264,995 for two-bed apartments.

Barratt was founded in 1958 and claims to have built and sold approximately 300,000 homes, aiming to construct 14,000 properties a year. ADNFCR-1100-ID-18219139-ADNFCR
