Apartments alongside listed buildings on Knightstone Island

A redevelopment of a unique island complex in Weston-super-Mare is being substantially renovated to create a stunning new housing complex.

Knightstone Island in Weston-super-Mare has been officially reopened by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh and developer Redrow is creating new luxury apartments on the site.

Ideal for those looking for a stylish apartment in a building that is full of history and character, just a few properties on the island are still available to purchase, many with sea views, high ceilings and parking spaces.

A total of 87 apartments will rejuvenate the iconic development, which is linked to the mainland by a causeway and is home to three Grade II Listed Buildings.

The Pavilion Theatre, Dr Fox's Bath House and the historic Edwardian Swimming Baths are being extensively renovated as part of the £20 million development, having fallen into neglect and disrepair, and the Coronation Parade, a perimeter walkway around the island, has been officially reopened by the Queen.

Colin Lewis, Redrow regional chairman, said: "Her Majesty was pleased to hear that we are bringing people back onto the island, especially when I explained about the reopening of the perimeter walkway and the fact that it wasn't just for residents; we are bringing the island back into the public realm."
