Cape Verde buzz fuelled by direct flightsCape Verde buzz fuelled by direct flights
The increased availability of direct flights from the UK to Cape Verde has helped the islands to experience something of a property boom, it has been suggested.
Since its launch last November "The Cape Verde Experience has already had to increase its flight allocation" to the Cape Verde island of Sal, because of "demand from holiday makers", a spokesperson for the tour operator has claimed.
Jenny Adams, PR manager for The Cape Verde Experience, explained: "The Cape Verde islands have been a popular holiday destination for the Italians and Portuguese for some time, however the increasing UK interest was fuelled by the first ever direct flights, which launched from London Gatwick to Sal, Cape Verde, last November."
As a result, the region is becoming an increasingly positive destination for property investment, with a growing number of Brits and people from other parts of Europe keen to spend time on the islands.
Ms Adams added: "There has been a buzz about the islands for the last year, as Cape Verde continues to be the must-visit destination."
