Mortgage incentive graces Reading new-builds

A new initiative designed to help buyers in Reading afford to get on or move up the housing ladder has been announced.

Shinfield Park, a new development in Reading, comes with a three per cent two-year fixed-rate, making it easier for buyers with families to afford a home.

Gary Ennis, regional managing director of Barratt Homes, said: "Unlike a number of areas in the UK, Reading property prices are still climbing, which is good news for homeowners.

"However, interest rate rises have also increased this year and that can lead to uncertainty among buyers, particularly those planning to move up the property ladder."

According to the Land Registry, house prices in Reading rose by 4.51 per cent between March and May of this year.

Barratt is also offering to pay £1,000 towards legal fees and will provide free carpets and a fridgefreezer.

Shinfield Park, a mix of three, four, five and six bedroom houses and two-bedroom apartments, is within half an hour's drive of London, Oxford and Slough.

It is located close to the A33 – providing access to Reading and Basingstoke - and to the M3 and M4.
