Newbiggin-by-the-Sea homes launched

A new development located on the north-east seaside is now on sale and Barratt expects it to be popular with locals homebuyers.

The Carrs at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea will eventually consist of 45 starter homes and larger houses for families.

For those worried about the cold coastal air, Barratt has said that all the homes will have double glazing, energy-efficient central heating and insulation.

Barratt sales negotiator Andrew Somerville said: "We've had a lot of interest from people all over the region who are looking to relocate to the seaside.

"With the millions of pounds being in invested in Newbiggin's seafront this is set to become a very picturesque area once again."

Newbiggin-by-the-Sea has the oldest working lifeboat station and the oldest Methodist Chapel in Britain.

Barratt said that homeseekers could move into the development before Christmas.
