First-time buyers in the Ipswich area could find they are £1,000 better off each month if they buy a new house at Barratt's Foxgrove Gardens development.

Barratt will pay £1,000 a month towards the mortgage on three and four-bedroom houses for the first 12 months.

Meanwhile, homeseekers who are looking for something a little smaller will be paid £650 a month on one and two-bedroom apartments.

Gary Ennis, regional managing director, says: "As the development draws to completion, we are delighted to celebrate its success by offering first-time buyers a real chance to jump onto the property ladder with this substantial mortgage subsidy.

"Existing homeowners will also find the quality and prices of the properties excellent value and should ask about any other special offers available."

House prices range from £133,000 to £249,995.

Ipswich is undergoing a renaissance at the moment, especially its waterfront, which offers cruises down the River Orwell.
