Reserve a Manchester home for less than a poundReserve a Manchester home for less than a pound
A housebuilder in Manchester is predicting that as Christmas draws ever closer, househunters will be deterred from buying new homes due to affordability concerns.
George Wimpey is tackling this problem by offering homebuyers the chance to reserve a home at one of its Cheetham Hill developments for £0.99 - essentially for free.
The deal applies to selected properties at Appleton Gardens, which consist of two-bedroom apartments and three and four-bedroom townhouses. Prices start from £131,995.
Karen Witt, George Wimpey sales executive, said: "Moving in for Christmas is a major goal for many buyers looking for a property at this time of year.
"The move in for £0.99 deal is the perfect solution for buyers [...] as it means they can bag their dream home without having to scrimp on the Christmas shopping."
Meanwhile, first-time buyers on the other side of Manchester are being given the chance to move into a new home at George Wimpey's River View development in Tonge Moor by paying a £99 deposit.
