An ongoing development in Faversham, Kent, which will eventually consist of 103 new homes, has won a prestigious prize.

Known as Arterra, the development by Fairview New Homes won the top prize in the commercial category of this year's Faversham In Bloom competition.

The development, which is located on Whitstable Road, comprises three and four-bedroom houses and one and two-bedroom apartments in a wide range of styles.

According to Fairview, Arterra has been something of a hit with homebuyers, who are attracted to its proximity to local transport links and amenities.

"As a bonus, the ten-acre Mount Ephraim Gardens, featuring orchards, a vineyard, lake, water garden, rose terraces and a Japanese-style rock garden, are almost on the doorstep," said a Fairview spokesperson.

Talks are currently taking place as to whether a new fast rail link should link Faversham to the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, as well as London's St Pancras and Stratford stations
