Converted aerospace apartments released in Farnborough

Redrow has released more than 30 converted apartments at the former site of the Royal Aircraft Establishment headquarters in Farnborough, Hampshire.

Known as Farnborough Central, the 12-acre development is made up of one and two-bedroom apartments, with full-fitted kitchens.

It will eventually feature 85 refurbished apartments, 194 new-build apartments and 54 new townhouses. Prices start at £185,000.

Redrow area sales manager Tina Chalk said: "The converted buildings have great historical significance, and that obviously appeals to people looking for something a bit different from their new home."

The site is home to the Farnborough Aerodrome and the Farnborough International Airshow, which takes place every two years.

It also features an aerospace library, restored wind tunnels and a 250-ft long airship hangar frame that forms a "powerful architectural centrepiece", according to Redrow.
