New waterside homes at Scottish coastal town of Ardrossan, near Ayr and Irvine, have gone on sale.

Built by George Wimpey, the development - named Harbour - consists of 41 two-bedroom apartments and 31 family homes.

The housebuilder said there has been a lot of interest from customers who live locally and urged potential buyers to act now.

Michelle Logie, sales director for George Wimpey, said: "With affordable prices and an excellent location, we're expecting The Harbour development to be popular.

"This development offers a comprehensive mix of apartments and family homes, which are designed to be attractive to a wide range of customers."

Ardrossan is full of ornate cottages and detached villas, including the Earl of Eglinton's seaside residence, The Pavilion.

It is the first time that George Wimpey has built homes in Ardrossan, which is 35 miles away from Glasgow and 80 miles away from Edinburgh.
