Investors urged to consider Turkey

Overseas property investors are being urged to check out Turkey's diverse property market before it gets too expensive.

According to BuyAssociation, there are some "great opportunities" in Turkey and prices are still "significantly cheaper" than anything in Cyprus, Greece, Portugal.

There now already around 17,000 British people who have been enticed by the April to mid-November sunshine and have proceeded to invest in the gateway between east and west.

Paul Collins, property editor of BuyAssociation, said: "We're starting to see some golf developments coming onto the market now.

"Some of the developers and some of the agents are starting to look at some things that are a little bit more diverse, which is really interesting."

There is even the possibility of some ski properties coming onto the market in the next couple of years, he added.

Work recently started on a new urban development in Ankara called Parkoran, a 17-storey residential tower overlooking a pine forest and lakes.

Built by MESA Group, Parkoran will provide accommodation to over 8,000 residents.
