Sporty opening for Caerphilly development

Members of the Penallta Rugby Club in Wales will be on hand this weekend to launch a new housing development that is likely to appeal to first-time buyers in Caerphilly.

In fact, the showhome at Redrow's Cwm Calon development in Ystrad Mynach has been decorated and furnished to the suit the taste of Penallta captain Matt Tucker.

Design firm Connections in Design interviewed the rugby player before creating an interior that reflects his lifestyle.

Debby Pavitt, sales manager for Redrow, said: "The designers have come up with a stylish and contemporary scheme to suit Matt's sporty lifestyle.

"But the show home is really there to show potential buyers that, whatever their taste, a brand new property is a blank canvass that can be transformed into a dream home."

One and two-bedroom apartments are available from £99,950, while family homes range from £179,995 to £319,995.

Caerphilly, which hosts The Big Cheese festival and a fundraising musical event called Megaday in the summer, is three miles north of the Cardiff suburbs of Lisvane and Rhiwbina.
