The development of new transport infrastructure in West Lothian means it is a good time for families to be looking for property in the region's commuter villages, a developer has claimed.
According to George Wimpey, the new Bathgate-Airdrie rail line is likely to lead to the transformation of the area, meaning people who buy in new developments now could benefit in the long term.
The company is building 29 three or four-bedroom family homes in a development called Ailsa Gardens in the village of Blackridge and sales executive Mary Cooney said they are proving popular with the local community.
Most of the properties already reserved have been snapped up by local families keen to remain in the area as the wider regeneration takes place, she explained.
However, the homes are just as attractive to people moving to the region, continued Ms Cooney, explaining: "[The] handy location just a short drive to the M8 for travel to the east or west means a relatively short commute whichever way you need to travel."
Other George Wimpey projects in Scotland include a range of townhouses in Eskbank and a development of semi-detached and detached houses in Dunfermline.
