Housing customer insight guide published

A new customer insights guide aimed at homebuilders has been published by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH).

It is designed to teach housing providers - including those which run retirement properties - how to use demographic and behavioural information on their customers and residents.

The Good Practice Briefing on Customer Insight encourages the intelligent use of data to reduce inefficiencies and improve the outcomes for customers.

Sarah Webb, CIH chief executive, said: "Housing providers really need to use customer information better, rather in the way retailers and other private sector companies do.

"Making the most of this customer insight is critical if housing providers are to tailor their services effectively for their different residents."

Caroline Flint, the recently-appointed housing minister, has told the CIH that she intends to work closely with the homebuilding industry in order to create strong communities.
