Direct flights boost Cape Verde popularityDirect flights boost Cape Verde popularity
The African islands of Cape Verde are becoming increasingly popular with foreign investors due to the improvement of direct flights to the area, according to one overseas property website.
Flights to the region take approximately six hours from Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester, while a service from Stansted is due to be launched this winter.
And BuyAssociation property director Paul Collins said that the country is progressing from being an emerging market to a mature one, with many UK residents moving to the area to retire.
"Quite a big factor in the development of it as a market is the fact that you can now get direct flights there from the UK," he added.
Average property prices in Cape Verde range from CVE13,000,000 (£79,500) for a two-bedroom apartment to CVE26,000,000 (£159,000) for a three-bedroom villa, with most new developments taking place on the Boa Vista, Sal and Santiago islands.
