Another event aimed at first-time buyers is to be held in Taunton following the success of Barratt's Festival of Housing last month.

The homebuilder has organised another event to offer help and advice to those thinking of making their first foray into the property market, holding it at the Old Cider Works development at Norton Fitzwarren.

Sales manager Louise Terry stated the scheme most attracting buyers is Dream Start, which allows purchasers to secure a mortgage for 75 per cent of the property's worth and pay off the remaining quarter over the next decade.

"Market evidence continues to highlight the affordability difficulties faced by first time buyers and key workers and Barratt's Dream Start scheme is tailored exclusively to help these people get on the property ladder," Ms Terry explained.

A similar event was organised by Homebuilder George Wimpey at its Inspire site in Wallington, Sutton, where parents of older children were encouraged to look into making a purchase for their offspring.ADNFCR-1100-ID-18857796-ADNFCR
