Barratt Homes has announced it is to mark the Chinese New Year with a special event at a property development on the Isle of Wight.

The housebuilder will provide food and a traditional Chinese lion dance to guests who visit its Hawthorn Meadows site in Cowes on February 24th.

Those who attend will be able discuss purchasing a home at the development with Barratt's sales advisors and those who do decide to buy may be able to take advantage of the company's Dream Start scheme.

Sales manager Tanya Gower described the initiative - which allows purchasers to pay only 75 per cent of the property's value and defer the remaining quarter - as a "terrific offer" for buyers.

"We're really looking forward to having a Chinese-filled day at the development," she added.

Barratt recently reduced the two homes at its Windermere House site in Stourport-upon-Severn, cutting prices of the two-bedroom properties by £23,000.ADNFCR-1100-ID-18977599-ADNFCR
