Changes to home information packs (Hips) will not slow down the buying and selling process of a property, claims one expert.
Lesley Sorridimi of Hiphiphooray.com says that with information gathered at the start of the process, things will be able to move much faster.
"At that point, solicitors start gathering information about the property. As a Hip provider that has been here since the process began, we are astounded at the number of things that can be thrown up," she continues.
Ms Sorridimi claims she has seen the situation arise where a property is unregistered, which will hopefully be avoided through the changed process.
The Rics Housing Market Survey March 2009 found that the seasonally-adjusted balance of surveyors reporting falling rather than rising prices fell again slightly from 76.6 in January to 78.3 in February.
It also found that the stock of unsold property on surveyors' books fell from 75.3 to 69.5 in February.
